Abtract
Toni Morrison is one of the best contemporary American writers. As a self-narrative, Morrison’s works write about regional and African - American cultural conflicts in the questing for Blacks identity. If rural South is associated with the slave fate in the past, Blacks lost their liberty, in the modern industrial North, Blacks will lost their dignity, alienating from their ancestral cultural heritage. The article is a way to explain Blacks’ minds when they live up to the values of White culture, and thereby affirming the important place of African culture for Blacks.
